Join Controlled F.O.R.C.E.® for the 28th Annual U.S.N.S.T.A. National Instructor Summit—five days of certification, recertification, hands-on training, and professional instructor development for law enforcement, military, corrections, federal, and security professional
Since 1997, Controlled F.O.R.C.E.® has certified more than 23,000 instructors and delivered training throughout the United States and internationally. This year’s summit is designed to help participants strengthen their tactical abilities, improve their instructional delivery, advance their professional credentials, and continue their path toward becoming a Controlled F.O.R.C.E.® Master Instructor.
Participants may select from two certification packages:
Package 1: Core Instructor Certification
4 Days | $870 | 10 Certifications
Package 1 provides the foundational technical and instructional training needed to control noncompliant subjects, defend against aggressive attacks, and confidently deliver Controlled F.O.R.C.E.® training within the scope of the certifications earned.
Training Includes:
- M.A.C.H.® Level 1 Instructor Certification– Arrest and Control Tactics: Techniques for managing noncompliant subjects through proper body positioning, M.A.C.H.® 1–5 control holds, team tactics, takedowns, handcuffing, and baton subject-control applications.
- M.A.C.H.® Level 2 Instructor Certification– Self-Defense and Survival Tactics: Defensive tactics for responding to aggressive attackers, including hand-to-hand protection and disruption, baton protection and disruption, edged-weapon awareness and defense, ground defense and escapes, in- and out-of-holster weapon retention, and weapon-disarming techniques.

Package 2: Complete Level 3 Defensive Tactics Instructor Certification

Package 2 provides the complete summit experience and includes all Package 1 training. Participants continue through two additional days of advanced M.A.C.H.® instruction, instructor teach-backs, practical testing, and scenario-based skill validation.
Successful completion of the entire five-day program results in M.A.C.H.® Level 3 Departmental Defensive Tactics Instructor Certification—the highest Controlled F.O.R.C.E.® defensive tactics instructor designation.
Additional Training Includes:
- M.A.C.H.® Level 3 Instructor Certification– Advanced Control and Countermeasure Tactics: Advanced application of M.A.C.H.® 1–5 control holds and reversals, M.A.C.H.® 6–10 control holds, hand-to-hand countermeasure drills, collar-tie applications, unconventional weapon draws, and countermeasure drills incorporating knife and firearm scenarios.
Additional Applications:
- Advanced Subject Control in Restricted Environments: Close-range subject control, cell extractions, room and bathroom extractions, vehicle extractions, casino-floor applications, environmental awareness, and team-based subject-control tactics in confined spaces.
- Active-Threat Response Tactics and Scenario Application with Room and Hallway Clearing Techniques
