Controlled F.O.R.C.E. is developing a Law Enforcement K9 Working Dog Symposium for the U.S.N.S.T.A. 2012 Instructors Academy.
Our goal is to bring together Law Enforcement and Military K9 Trainers to share ideas on a variety of topics, including:
IED / Bomb Detection
Patrol Officers working with K9 Units
Tactical K9 Deployment with Small Team Tactics
In addition, the Biloxi Police Department, which is presenting the conference with the U.S.N.S.T.A., will have its K9 Unit demonstrate its tactical K9 deployment and bomb detection.
Along with the K9 Symposium, we have two presentations scheduled:
Animal Control Tactics (A.C.T.)
Tactical K9 Deployment for Patrol Officers
These presentations are designed for the Patrol Officer that has no dog handling training, but may have to interact with a K9 Unit in response to a call. These sessions will provide the officer with techniques to identify, understand, and respond to animal behaviors, as well as be able to work safely and effectively with a K9 Unit if necessary.
Training options include Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Level 1 Mechanical Advantage Subject Control Departmental Instructor Certification.
